Le Case di Sant'Andrea
Country Houses in Sicily
Case di Sant Andrea in the beginning -16th century- were part of a small rural village. The small houses were then as they are now well set in the territory. Our ten rooms have been built over the ancient constructions of the farm, keeping the volmes and the original characteristics of the small rural village.
The village consists of a several constructions,one next the other, within a courtyard: the central square is paved in stone and has a magnificent panoramic view of the olive grove valley and the strem.
From this center of the farm, which we have named PIAZZETTA MATRICE, as often are named all the main squares in all small villages, gain shape the rooms and the restaurant. The rooms and the restaurant are set within the ancient premises and they all have an upward setting, just like a staircase. Consequently, all rooms have different panoramic views and are ideally placed in the landscape. The white stone walls and lava stone blacks give a pleeasant and relaxing tone to the green countrysides all around the village.
For the house interiors has been used local materials, typical of the sicilian tradition: terracotta tiles and sandstone for the walls. The final effect is definetly positive: Le case di Sant’ Andrea have plenty of space and light. All rooms have a panoramic window, indipendent entrance, a modern bathroom with a dressing room and central heating. The simple style furniture and natural material offer a fresh and relaxing environment in perfect harmony with nature. Hence, all is available within a frame of elegance and charme.
